A garage site which caught fire yesterday afternoon (27 August 2014) has been handed back to its owners after a re-inspection by firefighters.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called out at 4.04pm to the Madeira Garage on May Road in Brighton.
At the height of the incident, six fire engines were at the scene from Preston Circus, Barcombe, Hove and Roedean, as well as the control unit from Bexhill. Crews wore breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.
One member of the public suffered minor burns and was left in the care of the ambulance service.
A re-inspection of the site took place at 10.30pm and it was handed back to the owners.
