The Brighton and Hove 999 Fun Day which was due to take place on Hove Lawns tomorrow has been cancelled in case storms hit.
The city’s emergency services get together every year to show people some of the good work they do.
But as the south coast braces itself for the remains of Hurricane Bertha tomorrow, this year’s event has been cancelled.

Inspector Richard Delacour said: “I know people will be disappointed but the weather which is forecast for tomorrow means it will be very wet.
“We are also expecting very strong winds and as Hove Lawns are right on the seafront it would be very exposed to the elements and could be dangerous for anyone visiting or taking part.”
Cancelled because it might be dangerous? Surely the whole point is to see the emergency services in action!
typical! The reliable emergency services have to cancel due to a very unreliable weather forecast service! expect glorious sunshine on the lawns tomorrow. Luca aged 3.
