A 14-year-old girl was left terrified after a kerb crawler tried to get her into his car in Brighton.
The incident happened at about 7pm on Tuesday evening in Patcham.
A police spokesman said: “The 14-year-old girl from Estonia, who has been staying with a family in Patcham whilst studying English in Brighton, was walking along a road believed to be Ladies Mile Road, Patcham, when she was approached by a man in a blue hatchback car who asked her to get in.
“She refused and he drove off. She was unable to supply a description of the man or further details of the car.
“This is an isolated incident for Patcham but anyone who was in the Ladies Miles Road area at that time on Tuesday evening and who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact police via 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 1587 of 5/8.”
