A group of former Varndean Boys’ Grammar School students, including the television presenter Des Lynam, have visited Varndean College.
They took a look at how things had changed since they did their O levels at the school 55 years ago.
They spoke to current staff and students and toured the college buildings to see the developments that have taken place.
They were impressed by the new facilities that are now open for students, including the new library and fitness suite.
At the end of the tour, Paul Rhymes, head of sport at Varndean College, chatted with the 71-year-old former Grandstand and Match of the Day presenter, who started his career on BBC Radio Brighton
They spoke about sport at the college today and the prospects for the England football team at the World Cup.
