An 18-year-old man has pleaded guilty to having indecent images of children.
Shaun Ferguson, of Tower Road, Brighton, was charged with four counts of having indecent images of a child on Monday 4 November last year.
He was due to stand trial at Hove Crown Court on Wednesday (21 May) but on Tuesday (20 May) he pleaded guilty to all four counts.
He will be sentenced on Monday 16 June.
Ferguson was arrested for child sexual exploitation offences and during this investigation his mobile phone was seized and examined by Sussex Police.
A number of indecent images and videos of a child were found and the child was identified.
Detective Constable Naomi O’Keeffe, of the Safeguarding Investigation Unit based in Brighton and Hove, said: “Ferguson has demonstrated he is a predatory young man and he chose an exceptionally vulnerable young girl to manipulate into doing what he wanted.
“I can now reassure the public that he will be regularly monitored to ensure he doesn’t offend against young people in the future.”
