A man savagely attacked a woman, breaking her leg and fracturing her knee – because she offered to give his dog a biscuit.
The 36-year-old woman, from Brighton, was walking home from work at 11.20am on Monday (28 April) when she stopped to offer a biscuit to the dog with a man in Clarence Square.
The man attacked the woman and she suffered a fractured leg and dislocated knee.
Detective Constable Grant Hebblewhite said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack on a woman who was acting in kindness.
“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard the attack happen. If you know anything at all, please contact us.”
Sergio Valdivieso-Haak, 28, of no fixed address, has been charged with assault. He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 22 May.
