A 92-year-old Brighton woman was burgled and had more than £1,000 cash stolen from her handbag.
Today (Monday 14 April) Sussex Police published an image of the man suspected of stealing her money.
A man called at the woman’s flat in Lustrells Vale, Saltdean, at 1pm on Friday 3 April.
She promptly shut the door on him but a short while later she went back to the door and found it open.
More than £1,000 had been taken from her handbag in the flat.
The suspect was described as white, about 6ft 2in tall and bald.
He was wearing dark clothing including a buttoned up coat.
Detective Constable Richard Valder-Davis, of the Brighton Priority Crime Team, said: “This was a despicable theft in which an elderly lady was preyed upon.
“If you saw this man in the area that afternoon, perhaps with a vehicle, or have any other information, please call us.”
