Brighton & Hove Albion 1 Hull City 1
The Albion came within a whisker of an FA Cup quarter final appearance in their 5th round tie against Hull at the Amex this evening (Monday 17 February).
Leo Ulloa ran half the length of the pitch after a neat interchange with Will Buckley to put the Seagulls in front on 30 minutes only for Yannick Sagbo to equalise with just four minutes left.
Hull hit the woodwork twice in the first half with an audacious volley from Sagbo.
Then almost in stoppage time before the interval, Ulloa had chance to double Albion’s lead but headed a Will Buckley cross wide. The striker appeared suprised the ball fell to him whilst he was totally unmarked.
Albion had further chances to double their lead most notably from substitute Solly March.
March although had a shot which disappeared down one of the exits leading to the North Stand concourse.
After Sagbo’s goal Hull had a chance to snatch the tie but Jake Forster-Caskey headed David Meyler’s effort off the line.
The two teams replay on Monday next week (24 February).
