A man from Hove is among nine more people to be banned from the roads as a result of the Sussex Police annual Christmas crackdown on drink driving.
Carlo Boersma, 36, of Rutland Road, Hove, was given a 26-month ban after he admitted drink driving.
Boersma was also fined £1,800 when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court. He was ordered to pay £85costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
He was arrested after a crash in Hove.
Sussex Police said: “More than 50 drivers have so far been convicted of driving offences as part of the campaign.”
Chief Inspector Natalie Moloney said: “We have seen from the campaign that there is not one type of person who drinks and then drives.
“The people convicted have been of all ages and backgrounds.
“The only things that link them are the fact that they were selfish enough to get behind the wheel after drinking and that we caught them.
“Officers are out on patrol every day looking for more people like them who refuse to obey the law and put themselves and other people at risk.”
