The Seagulls progressed to the last sixteen of the FA Cup, with a comfortable victory over League 1 Port Vale.
Rohan Ince opened the scoring for Albion on the half hour with his first goal for the club.
Vale defender Chris Robertson equalised ten minutes later.
On a rain-sodden pitch, due to a storm and flash flood half an hour before kick off, the Albion went back in front two minutes before half time when Solly March curled an effort into the top corner.
Albion rounded off the victory with a goal from on-loan Tottenham striker Jon Obika ten minutes before the end.
Port Vale manager and former Albion boss Micky Adams may have been secretly wishing for a replay so that he could finally be involved in a match at the Amex but he appeared to get a good reception from Albion fans.
