Two men robbed a Brighton mobile phone shop of cash and handsets just as staff were preparing to close for the day.
The thieves struck at about 6pm yesterday (Monday 23 December) at the Phones 4 U shop in North Street in Brighton.
Both men were wearing dark hooded tops, balaclavas, gloves and sleeveless high-visibility jackets when they confronted a member of staff at the front door.
They barged in and ordered him to lock the door. They then took him, a friend who had come to meet him and another member of staff to a secure area which they were forced to open and then unlock a safe.
The robbers loaded more than £2,000 cash and high-value handsets into laundry bags before leaving.
Police were called at 6.44pm and Sussex Police said that officers were on the scene within five minutes.
Anyone who saw what happened or who saw two men matching the robbers’ descriptions in the North Street area early yesterday evening is asked to get in contact.
Those with information about this incident are asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555111.
