The public is being asked for support to win money lottery to repair the roof of Exeter Street Hall in Brighton.
The hall is in the running to receive £50,000 from the People’s Millions.
To get the money Exeter Street Hall must win the telephone vote that is only open today (Monday 25 November).
The money is urgently needed for repairs to the hall’s roof to make it watertight.
Exeter Street Hall was bought as a community asset in August after it was put up for sale by St Luke’s Prestonville Church.
A community group called TheHallGetInvolved raised the £180,000 purchase price through selling shares in the hall and other fundraising.
Volunteer campaign manager David Amor said: “The community pulled together, campaigned tirelessly for almost two years, negotiated, got local businesses on board and ran a packed programme of fundraisers to save the hall.
“We now need to save the roof, so we can continue with essential community services.”
The People’s Millions is a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV where the public help decide which local community projects get lottery funding.
The number to call to vote for Exeter Street Hall is 0871 626 8874 and you can vote up to 10 times from each phone number.
Calls will cost 11p or less from a BT landline, but may be higher from other networks and will cost considerably more from mobiles.
Lines are open until midnight tonight.
There will also be a report about Exeter Street Hall on ITV’s Meridian Tonight this evening.
