Concern is growing for a man who has gone missing from his home in Hove.
Arash Abshar, 81, has not been seen since yesterday morning (Saturday 10 August).
Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for Mr Abshar, who can often be seen in the food store Taj in Western Road, Brighton.
Inspector Jon Carter said: “Mr Abshar, who is Persian, suffers from dementia and was last seen by his wife at around 11am on Saturday.
“It is unusual for him to be away from his home for this length of time and everyone is growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
“Although Mr Abshar has lived in England a long time and speaks English, he has recently been communicating with people in Turkish and also a Persian dialect called Arsari and often switches between the two.
“He is known to frequent the Taj on Western Road but the staff have not seen him in the last 24 hours.
“We need to return him to his family who are very worried about him.”
He was described as 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall, well built with grey hair and of smart appearance. He often wears a mackintosh but was last seen wearing a navy check jacket and tie.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call Sussex Police on 101.
