A woman hurled racist abuse at three visitors to Brighton as they sat on the beach opposite the Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel.
Sussex Police officers are trying to trace the woman who also hit one of the Asian women on the arm during the tirade yesterday evening (Wednesday 24 July).
Sussex Police said: “The women were sitting on the beach opposite the Metropole hotel at about 8.30pm when there were approached by a woman and her two friends.
“The young woman, who had been drinking, shouted abuse at the women and slapped one of them on the arm.”
PC Mark Beaumont said: “The woman led an aggressive tirade on the women who were visitors to the city and many people on the busy beach would have heard it.
“We want to trace this woman, who is described as having dyed light blonde hair tied in a ponytail, tattoos on her arms and was wearing a long pale pink dress.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident and may recognise the woman to call us on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
