A 37-year-old moped rider suffered life-threatening head injuries in an accident in Hove at noon today (Tuesday 14 May).
He was flown to King’s College Hospital in London where he is in a critical condition.
The accident happened in Church Road at the top of Osborne Villas and the bottom of George Street.
Sussex Police said: “The road was closed for more than three hours while the air ambulance landed and for the emergency services to deal with the incident.”
It reopened at 3.35pm.
Investigators were trying to work out whether any other vehicle was involved in the accident and asked any witnesses to call Sussex Police on 101.
Where on earth did the air ambulance land. Totally built up! Poor man.
It landed in the road in Church Road in front of St Andrew’s Church with not much room for error.
Cripes! They must have some kind of amazing pilot. Astounded. I have grave fears for landing (in our windy town) on top of the Kemp Tower at RSCH when they redevelop and put in a pad.
Ever the hack, I must ask: is there a photo!
