A father from Brighton was hit by a car as he pushed his 13-month-old son in a buggy at the weekend.
The driver failed to stop after hitting the 26-year-old man who managed to push the buggy out if the way, Sussex Police said.
The father was not seriously hurt and the baby was safe after the incident in Freshfield Road, near the junction with Queen’s Park Terrace.
Sussex Police said: “A blue Ford Fiesta had crossed the carriageway and mounted the pavement before striking the man who managed to push his buggy out of the way.”
PC Christina Lane said: “Fortunately the man suffered only grazing to his leg and the baby was safe.
“The driver failed to stop and we are keen to talk to him. He was driving an older style Fiesta, coloured blue.
“He’s described as a young white man wearing a baseball cap with New York marked on it.”
Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
I can’t believe the driver used a toddler as his weapon! Why not choose the traditional baseball bat or a brick?
What a shameful and unpleasant comment from Michael Taggart
