Much of Brighton and Hove was covered with a light snowfall overnight and a heavier snowfall is expected during the day today (Monday 11 March).
Strong winds are making the air temperatures feel colder and more snow is forecast for tomorrow (Tuesday 12 March) too.
Despite the icy conditions traffic was moving well on the A27 Brighton bypass and the main routes through Brighton and Hove.
The A23 was slower and there was an accident at Ditchling Beacon.
The train and bus companies reported no significant problems.
And Brighton and Hove City Council said that it had gritted roads throughout the area.
By 8am no school had said that they were closing although some are keeping an eye on conditions with a view to closing early if conditions deteriorate too much.
