A car overturned on an icy road on the edge of Brighton at the start of the rush hour this morning (Monday 4 March).
The accident happened on the B2123 Falmer Road between Woodingdean and Falmer shortly after 7am.
The car left the road but the road was partly blocked as emergency services dealt with the wreckage and the aftermath of the incident.
The temperatures were hovering around zero as the sun rose, particularly in more sheltered areas and with the wind chilling temperatures.
Drivers woke to frosty windscreens and were warned to take care on the icy roads.
Roadworks were also due to start in Eastern Road, Brighton, this morning with temporary traffic lights expected to lead to delays all week.
