Five men have been arrested after two Brighton men were attacked on the seafront.
One of the victims suffered what Sussex Police described as “a severe injury to his ear which required hospital treatment”.
The other man suffered minor injuries.
The men were attacked in Marine Parade in Brighton late on Thursday (30 August) between 11.50pm and 12.10am on Friday (31 August).
The victims, who were both in their twenties, had been enjoying a night out before they were attacked.
The five men who were arrested were held on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH). They were questioned before being released on bail until Friday 19 October.
They were a 35-year-old man from Lewes, a 23-year-old man from Peacehaven, a 35-year-old man from Worthing and two men from Shoreham, aged 18 and 22.
