A Brighton man has been arrested after a woman was attacked in Hove early yesterday (Sunday 26 August).
Obert Ngwenya, 34, was arrested this afternoon (Monday 27 August) on suspicion of kidnap, making threats to kill and assault. He remains in custody.
He had been the subject of an appeal by Sussex Police after a 25-year-old Brighton woman suffered severe injuries to her face in New Church Road, Hove, at about 1am yesterday.
Detective Inspector Mark Cullimore said: “I would like to thank the public for their assistance in our appeal yesterday which has resulted in the arrest today of a man in connection with the incident.
“The victim of the attack continues to recover from the serious injuries she received.”
