A woman was seriously injured in a car crash on the A259 coast road in Brighton yesterday evening (Thursday 19 July).
A green Toyota heading west towards the centre of Brighton and a black Audi travelling east crashed in Marine Drive, near the junction with Roedean Drive, at about 6.15pm.
The Toyota driver, an 86-year-old local woman, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
The Audi driver, a 34-year-old man from Brighton, was taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries.
Marine Drive was closed until about 10.30pm while emergency services tended to the injured drivers and cleared the road.
