A man attacked in the centre of Brighton had teeth knocked out and suffered a broken cheekbone.
The victim, who is in his early twenties, was standing in the street in Grand Parade when the attack happened.
Sussex Police said that the attacker was a stocky white man in his early twenties, about 5ft 5in or 5ft 6in tall, who had short brown hair and facial stubble.
The attack happened at about 6pm on Sunday 8 July and was reported to the police on Thursday (12 July).
Sussex Police released the details today (Monday 16 July) as it urged witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Darran Newman said: “Anyone who saw what happened is asked to call us on 101. Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
