A bus, taxi and two cars crashed on the A23 this afternoon (Monday 25 June), blocking the main route into and out of Brighton for about four hours.
Sussex Police closed Preston Road for the length of Preston Park – between Stanford Avenue and the Preston Drove traffic lights.
At least six people were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton although none were believed to have life-threatening injuries.
Sussex Police set up diversions after the crash, which happened at about 2.40pm today, and said that it was investigating the cause.
The vehicles involved were a Countryliner number 40X bus, a Streamline taxi, a Vauxhall people carrier and a blue Renault Clio.
The bus was reported to have crashed into the back of the Vauxhall, knocking it into the Clio and the Clio into the cab.
The 40X runs between the Royal Sussex in Eastern Road, Brighton, and the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
some of these buses need an investigation
