Brighton and Hove is preparing to look for a new chief executive.
John Barradell, the current chief executive, is expected to be offered a new job in the City of London tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 21 June).
The 125 members of the Court of Common Council of the Corporation of the City of London are due to elect a new town clerk and chief executive.
Mr Barradell, a married father of three who lives in Kemp Town, is believed to be the only candidate.
He joined Brighton and Hove City Council in 2009 from Westminster City Council where he had been deputy chief executive since 2006.
He joined Westminster in 2002 after a 22-year career in the private sector.
If he is elected tomorrow, he is expected to leave the council in September.
