A van driver was flown to hospital after a crash on the Brighton bypass during the evening rush hour yesterday (Thursday 7 June).
The 45-year-old man, from Crawley, was on the slip road leaving the A27 for the A23 London road, near Vale Avenue, Patcham, when the accident happened.
His Ford Transit Connect van and a BMW estate car collided at about 6pm.
He was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries and remains in hospital today (Friday 8 June).
The BMW driver, a 63-year-old man from Reading, was unhurt.
Sussex Police urged anyone who saw the crash or the Ford Transit Connect van shortly before the crash to call 101.
