The Sunday morning service at one of Brighton’s most popular churches will be broadcast on BBC Television on Sunday (27 May).
The live broadcast from the Church of Christ the King is due to start at 10am and last for just under an hour.
Joel Virgo, the senior pastor at the church – at the Clarendon Centre in New England Street in Brighton – will be among the speakers and musicians featured.
The church regularly gathers 1,200 worshippers on Sundays and hosts services at Brighton Racecourse and at the Shoreham Centre in Pond Road, Shoreham.
This Sunday the doors in New England Street will open at 9am.
The BBC plans to record two episodes of Songs of Praise with the Church of Christ the King on the Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 6pm and on Monday evening from 7pm to 10pm.
The programmes are expected to be broadcast later in 2012 and 2013.
