The body of a woman has been washed up on the beach near the Palace Pier in Brighton.
Sussex Police said that they were called to the seafront opposite the Queen’s Hotel at 6am today (Friday 27 April) by a member of the public who had spotted the body.
The woman’s body was at the water’s edge and initial indications suggest that it had been in the sea for some time.
Inquiries are now under way to try to establish the identity of the woman and the circumstances of her death.
Police have indicated that the body on the beach was not the missing 96-year-old Nellie Herriott.
I hope that this woman is not the one that Was on the open top bus with me on Thursday 26 th April. She seemed somewhat disturbed, not crying but covering her face frequently. She got off the bus at Beachy Head and headed straight towards the cliff. She would have been in her fifties, blonde, and was wearing a bright red waterproof jacket. When I saw the news report the following day I was quite worried.

Thank you so much.
