A 96-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s has been missing since Tuesday morning (24 April).
Sussex Police said that officers were “increasingly concerned” for Nellie Herriott, who lives in Brighton.
She was last seen by staff at the BHS café in Churchill Square at about lunchtime. A neighbour called police yesterday (Wednesday 25 April) to say that she had not returned home.
She was described as a 4ft 9in tall white woman, of medium build and with short curly hair. She was wearing a blue coat and black hat.
A police spokesman said: “Nellie is clearly vulnerable due to her age and she also suffers from Alzheimer’s which can cause her to become confused.
“It’s now been two days since she was last seen and we’re very anxious to hear from anyone who thinks they may know where she is.
“Nellie is very mobile and regularly travels on the bus to different parts of the county but she used to go to the BHS café in Churchill Square on a daily basis and was well known by the staff.
“If anyone thinks they have seen Nellie then we would urge them to call police as soon as possible on 101.”
