By Tim Hodges from the Amex Press Briefing
Gus Poyet told Brighton & Hove News this morning, that he doubts he will switch off and re-charge in the close season. Instead he will review the achievements and some of the less note able parts of Albion’s season and look towards player recruitment.
Poyet suggested he would like to bring in five or six player’s, but didn’t give an indication as to how many of the current squad would be released.
The Albion boss appeared delighted that the expansion plans for the Amex have been approved. He also commented on the amount of people on the waiting list of fans wanting a season ticket, ” You have great games and great support and you still have more people wanting to come, it keeps getting better” said Poyet. ”It sounds good thirty thousand (fans) it sounds like a top team”
He would also like Albion fans behind both the north and south goals. The south is currently occupied by away fans but the manager thinks it would benefit the team if the away fans could be moved. Going on to compare how home support behind the goal affects other teams ”when Leeds get a corner (in front of their fans) it’s like a penalty”
Albion have no injury concerns to the sixteen that were on duty against Birmingham and there will not be many changes in the team that plays at Barnsley.
Vicente likely to start, if staying fit.
