Two men suffered serious injuries in a fight between two groups on Brighton seafront early yesterday (Wednesday 11 April).
One of them was left with a broken ankle and the other suffered a serious injury eye injury.
The men, both in their twenties, have undergone surgery at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The fight broke out in King’s Road at the top of the stairs near the Honey Club. Sussex Police said that the men were believed to have been in the Honey Club before the fight.
The men involved in the 4am fracas were mostly Spanish but resident in Brighton and Hove, the police said. They are all thought to be in their early twenties.
Detective Constable Jane Walker, of Brighton and Hove CID, said: “It appears that the men had all been in the Honey Club prior and a verbal argument took place between them shortly before.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the fight taking place or who saw the argument between them earlier in the evening.”
The incident was reported to police at 6.30am yesterday.
