A Brighton man has been jailed for seven years for firearms and drugs offences.
Colin Priske, 50, of Lewes Road, Brighton, was sentenced to five years in prison for having a prohibited firearm.
He was jailed for two years to run consecutively for having amphetamine with intent to supply and two years concurrently for having shotgun ammunition.
On Monday 1 August last year officers from the Sussex Police Tactical Firearms Unit, supported by detectives, executed a warrant at Priske’s address in Lewes Road, Brighton.
Officers found a sawn-off shotgun with 25 live shotgun cartridges and 888 grams of amphetamine paste with a potential estimated street value of £8,000.
Priske was in the flat at the time and was arrested.He was sentenced on Thursday (29 March) at Hove Crown Court.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “This case shows that the courts take a very serious view of offences involving firearms.”
