Three people were taken to hospital to be treated for breathing in smoke after a fire swept through a house in Portslade early today (Monday 28 November).
Several people called 999 in the early hours of this morning with the building being described by witnesses as “well alight”.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances and an aerial ladder platform shortly before 3.30am.
Fire crews safely accounted for everyone inside the house and used two jets and two hose reels to tackle the blaze.
The fire was under control just after 6am. The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and is being investigated.
