A clubber suffered serious injuries after being attacked by bouncers outside a Brighton venue.
The 22-year-old victim and his 23-year-old friend – both from the Brighton and Hove area – were pushed into an alleyway, with excessive force.
They were restrained and beaten up in the alleyway, outside the Haunt club in Pool Valley, Brighton, early on Sunday (13 November).
Sussex Police said that detectives believed that the attack was carried out by door staff.
Detective Constable Caroline Biggs said: “Brighton is a hugely popular night-life destination and we work closely with licensed premises and partner organisations to prevent people coming to any harm both in and around venues.
“Violence of any kind will not be tolerated by Sussex Police and this incident is being fully investigated.
“I am appealing for witnesses from both inside and outside the Haunt early Sunday morning who saw the two victims being taken outside the premises to please contact police immediately.”
The attack is alleged to have taken place at some point between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Sunday. The 23-year-old suffered minor injuries.
The police said that the club was helping detectives with their investigation into the assault of the two men.
Witnesses are urged to contact Sussex Police by calling 101.
A bouncer abusing his powers? If only this was uncommon.
