A shoplifter stole a camera and lens worth almost £1,500 from a shop in Brighton this morning (Friday 28 October).
The thief had just complained that a shop assistant in the Queen’s Road branch of Jessops was being suspicious about him.
She moved away and then saw him put a Canon EOS 7D camera and lens, worth £1448, into his rucksack and rush to the door.
She challenged him but he pushed her to the floor, leaving her with a minor injury to her arm.
The thief fled up Queen’s Road and turned right to head east down Church Street.
He stole the camera just after 9am today.
He was described as black, in his mid twenties, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build and with stubble.
He was wearing a black woollen hat with a round peak, a black hooded top with the hood up, black tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.
He was carrying a blue rucksack.
Anyone who saw the man or who recognises his description is asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
