A teenage model from Brighton threatened hospital staff with surgical scissors as they tried to treat him.
Korrel Kennedy, 18, of Gladstone Place, Brighton, made the threats at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in March.
A month later he was filmed wielding a knife as he chased a man.
A judge at Hove Crown Court jailed Kennedy yesterday for two and a half years for his threatening behaviour and affray, assault and having a knife.
Kennedy, who has worked for the leading London modelling agency Elite, had admitted the offences at an earlier hearing.
Judge David Rennie was told that Kennedy had 20 previous convictions, including sexual assault, violence, being drunk and anti-social behaviour.
Detective Constable Claire Mitchell, of Sussex Police, said: “The court took into account Kenendy’s list of previous offences.
“It is clear that he has so far spurned every chance to change his life and we were glad to have been able to bring him to justice for these two latest violent offences.
“In each case he put victims in fear, including dedicated hospital staff simply doing their job of caring for him.
“We hope that the outcome sends a message not just to Kennedy but to the wider community in the city that we will always pursue violent offending of all types.”
