Police officers helped to resuscitate a homeless man who was found lying on a row of seats in a busy street in the centre of Brighton yesterday.
The 45-year-old man was found near the Theatre Royal in New Road, Brighton, shortly before 5.50pm.
The officers called for an ambulance and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service took over the life-saving role as the road was closed, Sussex Police said.
The man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where he is being treated in intensive care. His condition was later described as stable.
The road was closed until 7.20pm.
