A cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries this morning after a crash with a car in Hove.
The accident happened just before 11am in Hangleton at the mini roundabout where Northease Drive meets Hangleton Way and Hangleton Lane.
Sussex Police said that the cyclist – a 72-year old man from Havant in Hampshire – was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Eastern Road, Brighton.
The 67-year-old Brighton woman who was driving the Peugeot car involved in the accident was unhurt.
The road was closed while traffic officers investigated the reasons for the accident.
A spokesman said: “Police and emergency services attended the scene at around 11am and road closures were put in place while the Road Policing Unit investigated.
“The road closures have now been lifted and Sussex Police would like to thank drivers for their patience.”
