Five people who were arrested at Brighton and Hove Pride have been brought before a court.
One was jailed for 28 days for assaulting a police officer.
Robert Gruska, 35, of no fixed address, appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday 15 August).
He pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer and being drunk and disorderly. He was sent to prison for 28 days on the assault charge.
Lolita Grant, 45, address not given, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly and was bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 30 August.
Philip Murphy, 44, of Grand Parade, Brighton, has been charged with having an offensive weapon. He was bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates´ Court on Tuesday 30 August.
Charlotte Crawford, of Lindsay Court, Govett Avenue, Shepperton, Middlesex, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer and has been bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 26 August.
Martin Spriggs, 38, address not given, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly. He was bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 30 August.
Twenty-eight other people, aged between 15 and 37, were arrested for a variety of offences including criminal damage, handling stolen goods, affray, assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH), robbery, using threatening words or behaviour, assaulting or obstructing police, having drugs, having drugs with intent to supply, being drunk and disorderly and drink or drug driving.
They come from Brighton, Hove, Portslade, Worthing, North Chailey, Carshalton, Croydon, London and Wembley and 24 have been bailed to dates between now and Tuesday 18 October.
Two were released with no further action, one received a fixed penalty notice and one was placed into the care of health authorities.
