A man has been arrested at a gym in Hove on suspicion of assault.
He was held this morning at Cheetah’s gym, which is popular with weightlifters and boxers and operates from the basement of the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Kingsway on Hove seafront.
Richard Harker, 46, of Wordsworth Street, Hove, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates´ Court on Wednesday (August 17) charged with assault by beating.
Mark Harper, owner of the gym, which opened in 1962, said: “It was just one of the members of the gym.
“The police arrested him and took him away.”
Mr Harper said that the arrest had been nothing to do with any activity at the gym and that the premises remained open as normal.
