The first Thameslink train of the morning turned out to be a hive of activity yesterday.
The driver spotted a swarm of wasps in one of the carriages of the 5.09am Brighton to Bedford service as he prepared the train for departure.
A spokesman for First Capital Connect, which runs Thameslink services, said: “To keep the train in service, two ticket inspectors stopped people from getting on the carriage during the journey and we took the train out of service when it arrived in Bedford.
“We’re really pleased with the way our staff kept the train in service and our passengers safe.”
