A woman was robbed on Brighton seafront and police believe that the incident may have been filmed by a bystander using a mobile phone.
The robbery followed what Sussex Police described as an altercation outside the Brighton Music Hall Bar, formerly known as the Gemini Bar, on the Lower Esplanade, Brighton.
A group of about four women and two men were involved in the incident at about 5pm on Sunday (31 July) when one of the women was robbed of her handbag.
Police were called and arrested two 21-year-old women and a 27-year-old man, all from Brighton, on suspicion of robbery.
They have been released on police bail until Wednesday 28 September pending further inquiries.
Detective Constable Richard MacKenzie from Brighton CID said: “The area was very busy at the time with people enjoying the sunshine so we are hoping that passers by will have witnessed the incident.
“We believe that the altercation, and subsequent robbery, may have been recorded on mobile phones and we would like to hear from anyone who has footage that could help police with their inquiries.”
Anyone who saw the incident or who filmed it is asked contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
