A man suspected of arson at a Brighton property has been released on police bail.
The 42-year-old was arrested by Sussex Police on Monday (1 August) after a fire at the property in Saunders Park View, Brighton.
Two neighbours were treated after breathing in smoke while trying to put out the fire.
They used buckets of water to try to douse the blaze in a ground floor bedroom of the property shortly before 5am.
The occupant was away at the time.
Detectives are carrying out a joint investigation with East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire.
The arson suspect was bailed until Sunday 18 September.
