A 36-year-old Brighton man has been sentenced to a three-year community order with supervision for making indecent computer images of children.
Nigel Hammond, of Egremont Place, Brighton, formerly of Down Terrace, Brighton, was also ordered to attend a sex offenders treatment programme.
Hammond was sentenced when he appeared on bail at Hove Crown Court today (Tuesday 2 August).
He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to 15 counts relating to indecent images of children, none of which involved him having any contact with children.
Ten of the offences were of making indecent images of children and five offences were of having indecent images of children.
The Sussex Police Paedophile Online Investigation Team (POLIT) found more than 1,700 still images and movies of children during the investigation.
Hammond is also due to return to Hove Crown Court on Monday 22 August when police will apply for a sexual offence prevention order to be served on him.
