A Brighton man appeared before magistrates today charged with attempted murder.
Patrick Lyons, 55, of Down Terrace, Brighton, was charged with trying to kill Barry Gordon, 33, of The Causeway, Brighton.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 22 July.
Lyons is also accused of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The charges related to an incident on Saturday (16 July) when Mr Gordon was attacked and run over outside his home near Brighton Racecourse.
He remains in hospital with serious head and chest injuries.
Two women also appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 20 July) in connection with the attack.
Louise Lyons, 29, of Carden Avenue, Brighton, was charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent and actual bodily harm.
She was also remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday (22 July).
Katie Lyons, 26, of Firle Road, Brighton, was charged with assault causing grievous bodily hard with intent.
She was granted conditional bail and is also due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday.
