A teenager has been left with a serious head injury after being attacked on Brighton seafront.
Sussex Police said today that the 19-year-old was approached by another man who punched him in the face causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement.
The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
He was transferred to Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre in Haywards Heath for specialist treatment for a serious head injury.
The attack happened on the Upper Esplanade in Brighton opposite the Old Ship Hotel at 3.20am on Friday (1 July).
The suspect was described as a white man, aged 19 or 20, of slim build and with long hair.
He was wearing a white long knitted jumper, jeans and trainers.
