Burglars stole dozens of zimmer frames when they broke into a warehouse in Portslade.
They also stripped lead flashing form the roof of the property in Clarendon Place, just off North Street, close to Boundary Road and the seafront.
The zimmer frames, which were for NHS patients, were stolen some time between 5.30pm on Tuesday 14 June and 7am on Thursday 16 June, Sussex Police said today (Tuesday 28 June).
PC Vivian Samuel said: “These are difficult financial times and the cost is estimated to be around £1,200 for the loss of the 60 zimmer frames, which were due to be used by the elderly and vulnerable.
“There is the additional cost and inconvenience of replacing the lead flashing on the roof.
