A vandal smashed a shop window in Brighton while a woman filmed him, Sussex Police said today.
Officers are keen to speak to the woman who filmed the man in Lewes Road, Brighton, at about 12.30pm during the London to Brighton bike ride last Sunday (19 June).
A group of cyclists passed by as a man smashed the window with a brick attached to a metal bracket.
They saw a woman filming the incident on her mobile phone.
The man, who was described as unkempt, walked off towards the centre of Brighton.
PC Paul Nellis said: “I am keen to speak to the woman believed to have filmed the incident on her phone as she may be able to provide vital information in this investigation.
“These are difficult times for shop owners and this senseless act of criminal damage is believed to have cost the owner £1,200 in shop repairs and damaged stock.”
