Four men attacked two teenagers in Brighton this morning, leaving them in need of hospital treatment.
The two 18-year-olds were attacked at the Western Road end of Norfolk Square shortly after 3am.
Sussex Police said that after the attack one of the victims followed the suspects as they walked off towards Temple Street.
The four men then turned on the youngster, kicking and punching him to the ground before stamping on him.
The teenagers were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and were discharged after receiving treatment for cuts and bruises.
PC Paul Murray, of the Brighton and Hove Neighbourhood Response Team, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on two men walking home after a night out.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who recognises the suspects or who witnessed this awful assault.”
