Two men died this morning after a crash on the A23 on the approach to Brighton.
Their Peugeot car left the road at Pyecombe a few minutes after 1am.
Two other men in the same car were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. They were not seriously injured.
They have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in police custody this morning (Sunday 19 June).
Sussex Police said that the crash affected both sides of the A23 and both sides were closed while rescue, recovery and investigation work was carried out.
The A23 was reopened at 7.25am.
All four men who were in the car are from London.
