Catering-size quantities of food and drink were stolen by burglars from a cash and carry in Portslade late last week.
Sussex Police said today that the burglars may be hawking their haul for sale around local cafés and restaurants.
They urged anyone who is offered the stolen goods to contact detectives on 0845 6070999.
The burglars forced open the roller doors of Adams Cash and Carry in Basin Road North sometime during the evening of Wednesday 8 June or the early hours of Thursday 9 June.
They stole bulk containers of various food items including 1.5kg tubs of ricotta cheese, 1l bottles of olive oil, 20 packets of bacon marked A1 in 2.27kg packs and four large tins of Nescafé coffee.
A black Stone Island jacket was also taken.
